Describe

MP5016 is a protective device used to protect the output circuit from transient effects at the input. MP5016 can also protect inputs from short circuits and output transients. During startup, the surge current is limited by limiting the slope of the output voltage change at the output terminal. The slope change is controlled by the DV/DT and MODE pin settings. The maximum load at the output end is the current limit. The current limit value is controlled by the external resistance between ILIMIT and GND. When ILIMIT is floating, the current limit value is a fixed value of 2.5A. The output overvoltage protection (OVP) has a clamp output voltage function. The clamping voltage can be set through a MODE connection. MP5016 provides a GATE drive signal connected to the gate of an external N-channel MOSFET, which is used to prevent current from flowing from the output to the input when the IC is turned off, power is turned off, or over temperature is turned off. MP5016 is packaged in QFN-10 (1.5mmx2mm).
